Grandfather Clock
Did you grow up with a grandfather clock at home?
A couple of things here. First, just wondering if anyone knows the best brand of Grandfather Clock (Sligh, Ridgeway, Howard Miller, etc.) – if all are the same, if you're getting a used one. Moreover, the views on the timing of the strokes? (Umm. ..) In other words, it is better to have the bell every 15 minutes or every half hour? The advantages and disadvantages of both? We know we want them off at night. Thanks!
Most do not turn off at night. If it is a second hand that you're simply looking to talk to previous owner on the characteristics of clocks. I I grew up with one and have my own now. I love the sound, plays on the hour and chimes every minute. Nothing more than that I think would irritant. Regarding off at night, if not in your bedroom get used to the sound and sleep through it. If you must be awake, you tell the time without even be more.
